I had the opportunity to meet with Tattoo Artists Keith Smith, Neil Malcolm and Paul Malcolm from Crow and Anchor tattoo company for our November Creative Profile.
Their history began in two separate tattoo studios in the Chatham-Kent community, Keith Smith servicing clients in Chatham with his business Madness Inc and Neil Malcolm with Roosters Coop Custom Tattoos. Combining their artistic talents, Neil came to work with Keith about 10 years ago at Madness Inc. Paul Malcolm, wanting to pursue a career in tattooing and having the artistic talent, came to apprentice with Keith and Neil, allowing him to do what he loves.
In 2021, they took a huge step and entered into a new, full partnership and rebranded the shop under a new banner for all three Artists. Crow & Anchor Tattoo Co. With their new name and custom designed premises at 460 St. Clair Street in Chatham, the studio has larger, private studios for each artist and a custom seating area for clients.
With years of experience, the extremely talented team recognizes the value of mentoring and sharing their knowledge and skills. Their newest apprentice, Sarah Sinclair, an aspiring tattoo artist, is cultivating her own skills and developing a solid foundation as a tattoo artist.
A tattoo fundraiser held in Chatham 2021 at Crow & Anchor Tattoo Co raised more than $21,157 for Sick Kids Hospital in honour of his nephew, 10 years old at the time, who spent time with Sick Kids. Guest artists from across Ontario dedicated their time and talents helping to make their first fundraiser an astounding success. This year, the family at Crow and Anchor Tattoo Co announced the return of the “Tattoos 4 SickKids” fundraiser and again raised an impressive $22,000 for this amazing cause!
